It’s Zits Dammit.

Dear Zit-of-the-Month Club:

I am writing to express my dismay at still being subscribed to your club despite repeated attempts (as well as cease and desist letters from my lawyer) at removing myself from your subscriber base. This month, however, you have truly outdone yourself. I not only have your standard ONE zit of the month, but currently I am nursing THREE. I demand that you stop this very instant or I will be forced to order several metric tons of Oxy and ship them directly to you.

Zitfully yours,
Fluffy von Bitchcake

P.S. Special thanks to Teri for inspiration.

Negotations

Boss: Apparently my printer is “on strike”. Would you be so kind as to “conduct negotiations”?

It’s a wrap!

When I first started my job, back in April, I spent the first few weeks shivering at my desk. I learned shortly thereafter that I in fact had a thermostat which could alleviate most of the chill, but it was too late. I had already fallen victim to Web’s 50th anniversary sale and a steal on Cascade 220. I fell in love with Norah Gaughan’s Kinetic Pattern and had thoughts of turning it into a wrap.

Of course, then came the knitting. It has taken me a while. I have started and stopped this project many times in favor of the latest lace or sweater. But now, just as the leaves are changing and it’s getting colder outside, I have a wonderful wrap to keep me warm.

What the?

Hubby sent me an interesting article this morning about how airlines are starting to test Wi-Fi on planes. But apparently we’re all going to need these to use it:

P.S. And I asked hubby if he wanted one for Christmas. He politely declined because it would mess up his hair.

All new…with more knitting content!

I thought I’d kick off the first REAL post on the new blog with…. knitting content! I have a few projects I’ve been working on that I really love.

First and foremost is the most complicated piece of lacework I’ve done to date.

The Pattern: Aeolian from Knitty

The Needles: US 6′s

The Yarn: Wollmeise Lace-Garn in Brombeere

The Verdict: This was the most difficult piece of lacework I’ve tackled to date. Really the dreaded parts of this knit were the nupps. There is a reason that “nupp” is a 4-letter word. Knitting with Wollmeise lace more than made up for this though. I knit this shawl for a Ravelry friend. I’m happy to report that she loves it… and that I’m probably going to have to knit another one for me!

There has also been quite a bit of baby gift knitting going on lately. My pattern of choice for this season has been Elizabeth Zimmerman’s Baby Surprise Jacket. I love how customizable it is for each new baby by using different colors of yarn and different buttons. I think this might be my favorite so far:

The Yarn: Knitpicks Shine Sport

Arrrrrrrr Mateys!

Welcome to my new home on the web! I hope you’ll enjoy the new digs. I’ve brought over all the old archived posts, but any new posts will only appear here. I have a few projects I’m dying to share, and lots of photos! So stay tuned….
