Ooops. Guess you get another two-fer. Which sort of works because yesterday and today were the same spin so you’ll get to see the “stages.” Spinning yesterday got a boost when my superhero boss suggested I take the afternoon off. I came home, popped a DVD in the player (Moneyball for those who are interested) and spun my little heart out. I managed to FINISH the singles – almost all 4 oz in a single day!
I swear this is the prettiest bobbin I have ever spun:
I love the fiber itself – it is so soft and smooth and shiny. And the colors make me SWOON. I had to leave the bobbin alone last night to rest before I chain plied it today. I was so anxious to see what it looked like!
I finished this afternoon. I’m a little disappointed in the yardage. I had played with the ratios on my wheel and tried to spin thinner, knowing that I wanted to preserve the color progressions but also wanting more yardage and a lighter weight yarn. Clearly that didn’t pan out. On the other hand, I LOVE the colors and am so pleased with my decision to spin it as I did.
I also had someone ask me if this one was going into the shop. I had thought to keep it for myself, but I might go ahead and sell it. Of course I’m trying to rein in my desire to just go buy another braid for ME!
Up tomorrow, a combination spin!
