The Olympics concluded yesterday and even though I didn’t watch the closing ceremonies (due to a Harry Potter marathon and the start of Shark Week!), I did cross the finish line with one of my projects.
I spun the yarn for this sweater during the Tour de France, and picked up to cast on for this test knit during the opening ceremonies. I cast off on Saturday afternoon thanks to a lot of car time. So I give you “Wine & Beer”:

The Pattern: Balmy, soon to be released by Alicia Plummer
The Needles: US 4
The Yarn: Handspun, Beemiceelf Superwash Merino in “Cherry Wheat” plied with Wollmeise Lacegarn in “Merlot”
Sadly, I didn’t finish my second goal, which was to finish Herbert Niebling’s Lyra. I’m still working on that one and have picked up another work in progress from last year. Here’s hoping for more finished garments soon!

Wow, spinning the yarn and then knitting an entire sweater in a little over a month? That’s super impressive!
