I thought I’d kick off the first REAL post on the new blog with…. knitting content! I have a few projects I’ve been working on that I really love.
First and foremost is the most complicated piece of lacework I’ve done to date.
The Pattern: Aeolian from Knitty
The Needles: US 6’s
The Yarn: Wollmeise Lace-Garn in Brombeere
The Verdict: This was the most difficult piece of lacework I’ve tackled to date. Really the dreaded parts of this knit were the nupps. There is a reason that “nupp” is a 4-letter word. Knitting with Wollmeise lace more than made up for this though. I knit this shawl for a Ravelry friend. I’m happy to report that she loves it… and that I’m probably going to have to knit another one for me!
There has also been quite a bit of baby gift knitting going on lately. My pattern of choice for this season has been Elizabeth Zimmerman’s Baby Surprise Jacket. I love how customizable it is for each new baby by using different colors of yarn and different buttons. I think this might be my favorite so far:
The Pattern: Baby Surprise Jacket
The Needles: US 4’s
The Yarn: Knitpicks Shine Sport
