Day 8: Rocky Ford

On a cold winter day just before we moved to Kansas City, Wes took me exploring in Manhattan, Kansas.  One of the places we went was the Rocky Ford State Fishing Lake.  Originally, the ford’s power was used by pioneers to operate a grist (flour) mill but was taken over by the Rocky Ford Power Company in the early 1900s. Today it’s the site of a dam, and recreation/fishing area.

Your posts are like a drive down memory lane for me! My dad used to take us fishing at Rocky Ford when I was little. This ‘waterfall’ lives in the recesses of my memory bank. THANK YOU for that.
