Summer Knits.

This summer I had it in my mind that I was going to knit the perfect summer sweater. A while ago when my local yarn store went out of business, I picked up a sweater quantity of Frogtree Pima Silk.  This cotton silk blend is soft and drapey. It still has some of the splittiness of cotton, but is much easier on my hands to knit and makes a lovely fabric to wear.

Several years ago, I knit a really cute textured sweater as a shop sample. I always had it in mind to knit another one for myself, and now I had the perfect yarn to do it.

I cast on over a month ago and then the sweater got laid aside for Tour spinning. With a spare week or ten days after the Tour concluded, I tore right through knitting the rest of the sweater. I finished weaving in the ends on Monday night and was able to wear it to work on Wednesday.  I can tell this is going to be a new favorite.

The pattern is #05 Textured Tee from the Knit Simple Spring/Summer 2008 issue.
